About Us

Påtfeldts Minnesgård – a lakeside resort nestled in the peaceful village of Västra Boda, Skillingmark, in the heart of Värmland, Sweden.

Some of the scenary

Here by the shores of Lake Helgesjön, we are developing a unique resort experience where nature, relaxation, and cultural heritage come together. Whether you're traveling by RV, looking to rent a cozy cabin, or seeking time on the water with one of our boats or canoes, you'll find a warm welcome and tranquil surroundings. Our small beach is perfect for unwinding on summer days, and the lake offers endless opportunities for swimming, fishing, and paddling.

The land that Påtfeldts Minnesgård stands on carries with it a deep cultural legacy. In 1974, the poet Johan Påtfeldt donated the area to the local heritage society, Skillingmarks Hembygdsförening. Born in Skillingmark in 1907, Johan Påtfeldt grew up right here in Boda. Despite early health challenges that limited his schooling, he pursued a self-taught path that led him to become a respected poet and writer. His lyrical works often reflected the landscape and spiritual depth of Värmland, with titles like Skrift i sand (1938), Livsträdet (1941), and Eko ur ensamheten (1974).

Johan Patfeldt

Johan Påtfeldt remained in Skillingmark throughout his life and passed away in 1974, the same year he gifted this land—a gesture that inspires us to this day. In 2023, the property was acquired by Påtfeldt Ekonomiska Förening, with the vision to preserve its natural beauty while opening it up for visitors to enjoy.

At Påtfeldts Minnesgård, we invite you to slow down, breathe deeply, and connect with nature, with history, and with yourself.
